Many feel meditation is beyond their ability, and misconceptions about sitting in perfect lotus pose with an empty mind don’t help. Meditation is the art of making peace with your mind, not bullying it into submission. In these guided meditation sessions, students learn how to make peace with their minds, remain present minded, develop calm abiding, practise single tasking and develop self-awareness. This of course leads perfectly into Mindfulness, which could be defined as a meditative mind while engaging with others and performing all our day to day duties. Mindfulness helps develop mental flexibility, calm, improves listening skills, and is one of the most effective forms of stress and anxiety management.
Anger is arguably the vilest human emotion, yet it’s all too common, especially in South African culture where we are raised to believe anger is an acceptable emotion to express. During these sessions you will learn the nature of anger and how to develop a cautious attitude toward it; learn about the misconceptions and mistakes people make in managing their anger; learn how to nurture patience, tolerance and a peaceful state of mind as preventative measures; and learn how to manage anger effectively when it arises.
Our environment affects our mental wellbeing, so there comes a time when being overburdened by our own clutter is no longer worth the attachment to everything we own. It’s difficult enough dealing with cars that won’t fit in garages or clothing drawers that won’t close, but when our stuff begins robbing us of time, money and energy, then something needs to change. During this programme, you will learn how owning less can bring more joy and fulfillment into your life, along with learning step by step techniques to reducing the stuff in your life while increasing the substance. Simplify to amplify.
